Nail Care

Beautiful nails stand out and make you feel special. Not only do well cared-for nails look good, they also make you look sexier and feel more confident. Then again, beautiful, healthy nails require care and time. Here are a few tips which will help you take care of your nails better.
-
Nutrition : nails are made up of proteins. Although nails are dead cells, eating a diet rich in protein will go a long way in improving the texture, strength and shine of your nails. Have more pulses, lentils, milk, meats and cheeses. You also need vitamins A and E to keep nails healthy. These are found in yellow fruits, fish oils and butter.
-
Grooming: always file your nails regularly, when they are about a quarter of an inch long from the pink bed base. Filing keeps nails shapely and attractive, and defines nails well.
-
Cleanliness: nails that are well filed can still look gross if they are dirty looking. Make sure that you keep your nails clean not only for the good looks, but also from the point of view of hygiene.
-
Drink plenty of water. This will avoid dehydration which in turn will avoid chipping of nails.
-
Do not, please do NOT use your nails as tools: picking your teeth, removing staples, scratching out dirt etc with your nails is a big no no.
-
Nail biting: this habit is hard to give up, but do try to give it up if you don’t want to leave your nails in an uneven mess.
